Doha, Qatar, 19 Feb, 2023: Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council announces the release of its updated QRDI portal to offer a variety of advanced features and improvements for an enhanced user experience.
The new enhancements include a more user-friendly interface that’s also mobile-friendly, with enhanced search functionality, for better navigation and accessibility, enhanced security measures to protect the user’s personal information, and general enhancements for the video player capability and bookmarking.
The Entities module now lists supporting businesses in Qatar actively engaged in innovation and research. Additionally, technical enhancements have been made to the QRDI Portal, including a completely revamped user interface, an update to the portal's technology stack, improved performance, and reduced vulnerability to attacks.
Newly added features include RDI Publications module, RDI Projects module, RDI Collaborations module, Private entities module, and Off-loading equipment module. A new feature was added to the current infrastructure module for requesting and managing site visits to the facilities listed on the portal. These new features aim to benefit researchers, innovators, and entities interested in engaging with them. Moreover, the new assets disposition module allows businesses to announce assets available for disposition for other businesses interested in receiving them.
Launched in 2021, the QRDI portal is an online, national platform that facilitates strategic connections and collaborations across the innovation and research community, making it easier for entities and experts to connect, develop partnerships, and unlock various benefits from greater collaboration. The portal connects 36 entities, from government, businesses, universities, hospitals, labs, and more, to work together and overcome challenges by finding new innovative solutions.
In its new version, the QRDI Portal also helps researchers and entities to connect with 258 state-of-the-art facilities, 3262 equipment, and 265 services to find the support they may need. It is also a valuable resource as it has 2769 projects and 9030 publications that have resulted from collaborations facilitated by the platform.
Mr. Haytham A. Ali, the QRDI Council Senior Information, commented on the QRDI Portal V2 launch: “In line with the QRDI 2030 strategy, which focuses on setting the roadmap to realise the national ambition of becoming a knowledge-based economy characterised by innovation, as stated by Qatar National Vision 2030, the QRDI portal plays a crucial role in offering an opportunity for researchers and innovators to browse thousands of assets and leverage shared resources. The portal also advances the dissemination of knowledge to all community members with an accessible database for funded research projects and research outcomes in Qatar.”
